**VAN**은 신용카드 결제를 사용하는 가맹점과 카드사 간 결제를 중계해주는 부가 사업자입니다. 삼성, BC, 농협 등 수많은 카드사를 하나로 중계해주는 VAN이 없다면, 매장에 카드사별 전용 리더기를 일일이 설치해야 했을 것입니다.\
(90년생 이후는 잘 모를 수도 있지만, 1980년대\~1990년대 초반에는 카드사별 단말기로 결제해야 해서 식당에 '00카드 결제 가능' 등 안내문을 붙여놓곤 했습니다.)\
따라서, 각 VAN사별로 OKPOS 프로그램 연동 시점과 연동 방식이 달라질 수 있습니다.\
